Brendan Rodgers
With Sullivan doing his usual run down of undesirable managers contract to avoid compo, I've b end pobdering on possible things end of season replacements. In my opinion Brendan Rodgers would be number 1 target: experienced, a good age, plays on the floor, not afraid to blood a youngster...I'd take him over Mancini, Benitez & of course Bilic, though to be fair anyone who plays a footballer in their best position is preferable to bilic.

Any opinion on who wil be our manager going into the 2018 season?

I see my first ever post using a smart phone has gone well

If they stick with Bilic we will be in the fizzy pop league next season with Palace.

Re: Brendan Rodgers
Rodgers wants to reach the year 2020 without losing a domestic league game so that rules him out.

Re: Brendan Rodgers
Tough one. Bottom six finish I reckon Slav walks/goes. Better than that - would the Daves sack him?

Westham67 5:20 Thu Sep 28
Re: Brendan Rodgers
Pity Slav doesn't have an incompetence clause in his contract

He'd be OUT OF HIS DEPTH with us

And get FOUND OUT

Re: Brendan Rodgers
I can't imagine he would have any interest in swapping a one team league where he is happily shooting fish in a barrel for the stress of a lower Prem league team.
I expect that his plan is to keep gathering endless trophies until (if ever) Rangers recover while keeping his eye out for another opportunity at the level he was with Liverpool.
He won't be interested in a West Ham , West Brom or Burnley for example

I'd take Rodgers

Re: Brendan Rodgers
Agree. He'd see WHU as beneath him, probably. But nor would I want him. His current job probably does little more than amplify his delusions of grandeur. I don't imagine he, per se, would be a draw for great players.

Penners still being hilarious with his five year old joke!

Would be my choice Deano, especially if he brought Tierney and Dembele with him.
Dont think he'd come to us in our current state, he would want fortunes to spend and that isnt going to happen. We might even be in the championship so tapping up warnock

Re: Brendan Rodgers
I really hate him and would find it difficult to overcome that if he were ever appointed WHU manager.

I'm sure a fantastic season or run of results would help change my mind, but I really wouldn't have much patience for him.

Why would he ever leave Celtic unless sacked though? Shoe in to win trophies and get into the champs league every year.

Re: Brendan Rodgers
Punching above our weight. He won't be interested in us. He'll either stay where he is in a job/club he loves, playing in the CL every year, or he'll wait for a top 6 PL club.

Re: Brendan Rodgers
He wouldn't get a top six side.

Could see him at Everton if they don't improve.

Don't see why he wouldn't come to us. There is limit to what he can achieve up there in Jockland and realistically he's gone as far as he can with them.

Re: Brendan Rodgers
I think he could. Arsenal or Spurs, or poss Liverpool. But agree not Chelsea or the Manchester clubs.

not sure he'd be willing to leave there to be honest

Re: Brendan Rodgers
Despite what people say about Scotland he is doing a very good job there and I'd say his stock has risen. 55 games unbeaten domestically is no mean feat and they went to the Belgium champions last night and played them off the park. History is also now looking like it will be kind to him with the job he did at Liverpool.

Re: Brendan Rodgers
We're lumbered with the dildos so don't expect any top rated manager coming to us. Will be a second rater done on the cheap.

Anyone can manage in Scotland, he'd be a disaster of epic proportions!

Re: Brendan Rodgers
I think this is a very good shout for WH manager. Winning every week at Celtic would be entirely different to managing WH with small time owners but I do think he would be a good fit.

Not just by impression of him winning games but seeing a long film that followed him around when he was Liverpool manager. He is an impressive character that worked unbelievably hard. If he joined we could be certain that the team would be fully match fit from the start of the season for the first time in 3 seasons...
